Privacy policy – your personal information
This privacy policy explains how Civil Registry uses information about you, in order to process your application for a search in its registry.
Types of information we collect and use
We collect the following information from you directly:
- postal address
- email address
- phone number
- bank card information
We collect the following information about you from CY Login:
- CY Login user name
- email address
- ID or ARC number
We use the following information about you from our own records, if it applies:
- full name
- date of birth, gender, nationality and community where you belong
- postal and email address
- phone number
- date of death
- full name, paternal surname, citizenship, place and date of birth, gender, relation to applicant and date of death for: children, parents, grandparents, and if the applicant is male, grandchildren.
If you leave feedback in Help us improve this service, we also collect this information:
- the degree of your satisfaction while using the service
- your opinion and suggestions on how we could improve the service.
If your Cy Login account is not authenticated we also collect
- full name
- date of birth
- ID or passport number and issuing country
Why we use your information
We collect and use this information so that our examiners can process your application.
Without access to this information, we cannot process your application.
If you leave feedback in Help us improve this service, we will use it to evaluate how users feel about their experience using the service. This is so that we can identify and prioritize areas for improvement, and get ideas for new developments.
How your personal information is stored
Your information is stored securely on servers based in Cyprus.
Your rights
Contact lmarkidou@papd.mof.gov.cy if you want to:
- get a copy of the information held about you
- restrict the processing of your data
- correct or update your personal information
- object to the processing of your personal information
- have your information transferred to another organisation or to you.
Complaints
You can complain about the way your personal information has been used by contacting the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.
